Yala National Park is a rugged, dramatic landscape of ancient rocky outcrops, dense scrub jungle, open lagoons and coastal wilderness that shelters an extraordinary concentration of wildlife within its protected boundaries. Block 1, the most visited section of the park, regularly rewards patient safari-goers with sightings of leopards resting on boulders, elephants at waterholes, sloth bears foraging in the undergrowth and crocodiles basking along the banks of Yala’s many lagoons.
